These Genius Easter Basket Ideas Are So Cute, You'll Want to Keep Them for Yourself!
Unique Easter baskets for adults, kids and grandparents.
I’ll start by saying that I’m not in any way religious, and do not actually celebrate Easter. I do however find this holiday presents an opportunity to exercise one of my favorite creative art forms; making cute gift baskets.
Here’s the thing about me and gifts; I like to give gifts when I see something that I know will surprise and delight a certain individual or group of individuals. I do not always make Easter baskets, but this year some items found their way into my orbit that were just PERFECT for a few select people in my life.
In fact, beyond Easter, I’m always on the lookout for items that remind me of people I love. I collect all year long and give when it seems appropriate. I hate the idea of feeling obligated to give a gift just because of a certain date. Besides, it’s so much more fun to surprise someone mid-year, for no reason, with a gift that is clearly thoughtfully planned out for them and them alone.
With that being said, I’m really thrilled to walk you through my creative process for these Easter baskets (that I’ve already distributed because I was too excited to wait).
First up, a basket for my friend Katelyn.
The idea for this basket started when I saw the cocktail napkins that said
Welcome to “Book Club”
Katelyn is in like, 5 book clubs that she always talks about on our group chats and the gist of it is that they basically just get together to drink wine. Ha! No judgement my friend. I bought the napkins with the intention of just sending her those as a surprise. Shortly thereafter, I learned how to crochet a basket which turned this project into something else all together.
Katelyn is a very busy mom of 4 who never really gets to do anything for herself. On top of that, her dad passed away within the last year, and she’s had a hard time adjusting. She is a very faith-based person, and I know Easter is a special holiday for her, so I set out to make something that was solely for her, Katelyn the person, not Katelyn the mom.

The Viral Summer Friday’s lip butter
Hand crocheted friendship bracelet. Hand crocheted basket. Hand crocheted egg stuffed with candy.
Of course I wrapped it up all cute with daisy cellophane and one of my now signature confetti bows! Adorable!
Next up are my friends The Mazzeo family. Jenny has been my bestie for 30 years and the two of us share a love of cute aesthetics. We’re known for sending each other cute stuff all the time. We even give each other wrapping paper and ribbons AS GIFTS since we both love wrapping and gifting so much.
I get a semi-weekly CSA box that includes a dozen locally farmed eggs. Since there is an egg shortage, they started sending only 6 eggs per box, and those tiny egg cartons really sparked an idea for me.
I had a bunch of plastic easter eggs leftover from the Thanksgiving themed egg hunt I planned last November for our Thanksgiving crew, so I decided to make some cute boxes for Jenny and her family.
First up, I used my newly acquired skills to crochet her a basket.
For Jenny:
BeeKeeper’s Natural Brain Health supplement
Zinnia seeds
Wrapping bits and bobs (cute yarn, mini pom poms etc)
Candy
Hand crocheted friendship bracelet she promptly regifted to a child
For her husband Frank:
Other candy
Hand crocheted friendship bracelet
For her son Nico:
I won’t be able to link all these, but I keep a box of “smalls” (things I pick up in dollar bins, etc) so a lot of this stuff just came from things I have collected over the years.
Weepul (remember these?)
Fortune teller fish
Banana eraser
Beetle eraser
recycled Lego crayons
Mini monster highlighter marker
Colorful dice
Gummy bear charm
flower stickers
Candy
Hand crocheted friendship bracelet.
To round out this basket, I added a tie dye dishtowel that I made (Jenny had mentioned she would like another one) and a VERY CUTE Meri Meri carrot surprise ball
The next recipients were my parents. Before my CSA went down to 6 eggs, they sent me a dozen from “Uncle Eddie’s Farm” My mom’s late brother was named Ed and we always called him Uncle Eddie. I texted her a picture of the carton when it arrived, but I also decided to keep it and recycle it for this purpose.
My parents never want “more stuff”, but I thought I could keep it light, funny and mostly dispensable items that would bring a smile to their faces. I have NEVER sent them anything for Easter, so I knew this would be a big surprise.
Mini personalized Lego figures:
**Sidebar on these Lego figures; I have never laughed so hard in my life as I did when I was making these figures. Talk about an unexpected and hilarious gift for anyone**

Other candy
Hand crochet egg filled with candy, Hand crocheted heart, hand crocheted ribbon for wrapping.
Last but not least is my husband Jimmy. At the time of publishing, I still have not given him this gift. (Waiting for actual Easter I guess) He is subscribed to this list, but I’m hoping even if he does read this article, he’ll be bored with my cutesy antics before he gets to the end so the surprise won’t be ruined.
As I mentioned, we don’t celebrate Easter, so I’m hoping he won’t see this coming. He, like all of us, sometimes needs a little reminder of how loved and appreciated he is, so I hope this will do the trick.
Outerknown baseball cap to serve as the basket itself
BeeKeepers Naturals Stress Support Supplement
ALL THE REESES! This man loves a peanut butter cup.
That’s it for this holiday! Perhaps next year I’ll make no Easter baskets at all, or I’ll make them for a different batch of people. It all depends on the mood at the time. For now, I found SO MUCH JOY in putting these together, so I’ll be riding this high into the summer.
Also, spoiler: I already have a great idea for a special person for Christmas so I’m starting to collect for that project now!
